Typically, the only homework assigned regularly is the spelling homework. Spelling homework is only three nights a week and should take 20-30 minutes to complete. If it takes longer, please let me know. At times, essays and in class projects will need to be taken home for completion. I usually don't assign homework over the weekend and I do not assign homework over holidays. Please encourage your child to read as much as possible. Composition includes, but isn't limited to: weekly spelling assignments and tests, grammar notes and practice, journal writing and essays. Essays are assigned in six week increments. In Literature, we explore everything from historical fiction to non-fiction and everything in between. We utilize our textbook, various novels and teacher selected poetry and fables. Typically, the only homework from Literature is reading. Check back periodically for unit updates. » read more...
