Location:
Outdoor fields
Start time:
1:00pm - 3:00pm. You will be assigned a specific start time for your turn. You need to be at the location and ready when your name is called.
What to bring:
Wear comfortable clothing for running, especially comfortable running shoes. The running trail around the Ralston fields can be rocky, sandy, and uneven in places, so plan accordingly. Do not wear cleats for this event.
This is an outdoor event. Apply sunscreen so that you don’t get sunburned.
You may bring your own water bottle if you wish. We will have bottled water available for participants.
Where to meet:
Sit on the large concrete steps near the outdoor basketball courts. This is close to the start/finish line.
Wait for your name to be called.
Event Format:
You will run two consecutive laps around the Ralston field, which is approximately 1km.
You will be timed on how long it takes to complete the two laps.
Rules:
You may warm up, stretch, and/or do some light jogging on the Ralston field grass. Please do this several minutes prior to your scheduled start time.
Once you have started the race, the timer cannot be stopped until you have finished the race.
You must follow the designated path for the race. Taking shortcuts of any kind will result in disqualification.
There will be multiple runners on the course (a new runner will enter the course every 2 minutes). Be sure to avoid contact with other participants while racing. If you make contact, you may be disqualified.
After you complete to laps, exit the course immediately so that you don’t impede other runners.
If you feel any pain, dizziness, or sickness, stop running immediately.
